A pear of pairs

A fine day sunny

fat Farmer Sammy

finally went looney

With not much language flair

(and even lesser hair)

For his heart and soul to bear

He fetched at first a pear

and then made instead a pair

"Would you care to share?

And show a little care.

Are you a pear of pairs

Or a pair of pears?

If I pare the pair of pears

Is it pair or pear I bare?"

For days he waited with anticipation

the pair of pears in conversation

Till off he went in frustration

To a nearby institution
